Case Study 1

The Friends of Hill House is an organisation of parents who raise funds to then donate items to the school. In recent years, the Friends have donated, for example, lighting for the Theatre, a shelter for the senior school car park, an adventure playground for the junior school and the development of the woods for the whole school.

Case Study 2

Kathryn and Karl Batey, whose daughter Isla is a pupil in Year 2, were delighted to donate recently a top of the range defibrillator machine for use at the schools’ sports grounds at Blaxton. Mr Batey said:

‘I was watching the news one day a few years ago and saw that a young boy had tragically died of a sudden cardiac arrest whilst at school. I researched and found that, without treatment, the victim's chance of survival decreases by 10% per minute whereas providing treatment within 3-5 minutes increases the survival chance to 74%. Hopefully the defibrillator will never need to be used but we hope it gives peace of mind to the school that it’s there just in case the worse ever happens’
