  • Life outside the classroom should be rich and rewarding. School years are an important time for trying out new skills and activities, which can give lifelong pleasure. Hill House offers a very full and vibrant programme of extra-curricular activities, which are additional to those offered as part of the normal school day. Over 100 activities are offered each term, which take place either before school, at lunchtime or after school, which are included in the school fees.

The range of activities is remarkable. There are a large number of sporting activities, either to support the current team squads, to prepare for the next term’s fixtures, or to introduce new possibilities such as Archery and Taekwondo. In Music, there are 5 Choirs to join, 4 Orchestras and a number of smaller groups.

There are 3 plays in production each year, and a host of other individual activities ranging from Chess to Gardening, Debating to Minecraft. In the Senior School, the Duke of Edinburgh Award is very popular at both Silver and Gold levels.

Pupils in Year 3 to Year 9 are expected to take part in at least two activities, those in Year 10 and 11 should participate in at least one. For children from Year 3 upwards, supervised Prep is also available from 4pm – 5pm each evening of the week.
