  • Carol Service

    Published 12/12/17

This year’s service was, once again, a huge success, with all pupils from Year 3 upwards and over 500 parents and grandparents filling the pews of Doncaster Minster!

Our readers, some as young as 8, confidently recited verses from the Bible to tell the Christmas story. Years 3 and 4 pupils treated us to a beautiful rendition of “Hope Was Born This Night” while Years 5 and 6 performed a wonderful version of “When Love Was Born”. The Senior Chorus worked hard to deliver two superb pieces, “Gaudete” and “Sing a Christmas Carol”.

The Senior Orchestra had a busy evening, not only performing “Renaissance Suite” but also providing magnificent accompaniment to five congregational carols!

It was wonderful to hear these readings and songs in such a breath-taking venue and thanks must go to the Archdeacon of Doncaster, Steve Wilcockson, for his poignant homily.

We hope the service got you in to the Christmas spirit and wish each and every one of you a happy and blessed holiday.

  • Hockey Whiteout

    Published 04/12/17

The character building essence of the British independent school was clear for all to see last week as Hill House and Worksop College Under 14 Hockey teams battled hard against each other and the extreme elements in a blizzard.

The quality of play was still high, even when the white ball could barely be seen! It was soon replaced with a pink ball and the game match carried on, with Hill House running out eventual winners 6-0.

Well done to all the girls, umpires and coaches, from both schools, for their dedication and fortitude!
