On Friday 21 April 2017, over 200 grandparents returned to the classroom, on this special day in the Hill House School calendar.
They were welcomed by the Year 6 House captains and were escorted into the school hall for a special assembly, recognising the important and vital role they play.
The Year 1 and 2 choir performed three beautiful songs, which brought a tear to many eyes. Then the grandparents were delighted to hear some very confident children recite poems about grandparents. With much excitement, the grandparents then went with their grandchildren to the classroom, where they were involved in some creative tasks, including making some hedgehogs for them to take away. The afternoon concluded with a welcome cup of tea and a cream cake in the fabulous new dining room and an opportunity to chat together reminiscing about their childhood.
Headteacher Mr Hall would like to thank all grandparents for attending and making their grandchild’s lives so special.
