Rugby Legend Joins Hill House Coaching Team

We are delighted to announce the arrival  of South African rugby legend Andre Snyman as the school’s new Head Rugby Coach.

Mr Snyman won 38 caps for the Springboks at centre and wing, playing for the Bulls and the Sharks in Super Rugby. He later played for Leeds Tykes and famously scored the winning try in the Powergen Cup Final in their 2006 victory over Bath.

He joins us from the United States, where he was Head Coach of the pacific champions Glendale Raptors. He joins our new Director of Rugby Chris Rose, who arrives from Audenshaw School in Manchester.

Headmaster David Holland is delighted with the school’s new recruit. He said ‘We are thrilled to be welcoming a coach of Andre’s calibre and pedigree to the school; rugby at Hill House has become strong in recent years, and Andre’s arrival will help take us to the next level. His experience in international playing and coaching will be invaluable, and together with Chris Rose’s rugby and managerial skills and knowledge, we are really looking forward to them working together to make Hill House known as a leading centre for school rugby.’

‘Alongside recent developments in the provision of music, drama, other areas of sport and pastoral care, not to mention some exceptional examination results in recent weeks, it is clear that Hill House offers our children unparalleled educational opportunities to grow, thrive and excel.’
