This year’s Sixth Form Revue was another roaring success. Embracing the theme of ‘Cabaret’, the students put together a fantastic showcase of their talents.
The Jazz Band kicked off proceedings with two wonderful pieces, before Dylan Sanderson took to the stage with his trombone and performing tie!
Maria Torstensson, Isabelle Osborne and Ruby Battiscombe-Scott each took their turn to show off their incredible voices before Hannah Webb gave us a wonderful rendition of ‘East Coast Mainline’ on the saxophone.
It wasn’t just Sixth Formers either, Year 11 singers Zara Karim and Oliver Barker wowed the audience, with Oliver even performing his own composition.
Mr Cartlidge opened the second act, demonstrating to us all why he was ‘Busker of the Year’. Lizzie Tonge made her debut solo performance, tackling an Adele song and proving just why she should be in the spotlight. Hannah Powell, Kieron Franks and Vongai Mukonoweshuro also sang fantastically well for their solo pieces.
Sam Honeybone commanded the stage during his clarinet performance before Mr Hopkinson had the audience clapping along to ‘Stand By Me’. Maria, Ruby and Lizzie returned to the stage to close the show with their version of Amy Winehouse’s ‘Valerie’.
The evening, completely organised by the Sixth Form students, was raising money for two charities that mean a lot to this year’s Upper Sixth, Mind and Clouds Counselling. All funds raised through ticket sales and the raffle will be split between these two worthy charities.
We are proud to announce that the evening raised £600. Well done to all involved!
