Just a Minute!

Just A Minute! Share everything you know on a topic in just one minute. Based on BBC Radio 4 game.

Students are given 'just a minute' to speak on a topic picked at random. No hesitation, repetition or deviation allowed. A fun, competitive and pressured retrieval activity. Students should identify and share what they feel is the most important information in that minute. Useful for revealing areas needed for consolidation.

Differentiation/Extension:

  • Students select topics to challenge their partner rather than the teacher
  • Once the student has spoken for a minute on their topic, another student has to speak for a minute to either add or argue against - student with the most persuasive point wins.
