Who/What am I?

What Am I? Pupils quiz each other to see if they can recognise the key term from a set of clues. Pupils who recall the most, using the least amount of clues win.

This activity can be used as a starter or plenary and is great as a low stakes quiz, testing pupils knowledge and understanding of key terms and ideas.

Simply split pupils into pairs or small groups and provide them with a set of 'What Am I?' cards. On each card there should be a maximum of three clues to prompt the pupil to recall the correct key term (the correct answer is at the bottom of the card). The pair/team with the most correct answers, with the least amount of clues wins.

Differentiation/Extension:

  • Pupils could create their own cards
  • Once pupils have correctly identified the key term, ask them to apply the word into a sentence.
