Choose a topic, give yourself 5 minutes + write everything you can remember. After 5 minutes compare what you have written with your notes. Correct where needed. Great retrieval practice for effective revision.
A good activity for students to check their knowledge and understanding. Students simply jot down everything they can remember on a topic. It is best for this not to be a huge topic but condensed into subsections. Once the time is up they compare with their notes, they can add what they have forgotten and correct misconceptions.
Adaption: Clock revision – see template. Students fill information in segments of a clock. Each segment represents five minutes – in adjoining segments they could insert information they have added from their notes.
