Taboo: Explaining key terms without using the words commonly associated – evidencing deeper
understanding. 

Pupils take it in turns to attempt to prompt his or her teammates to guess as many keywords as possible in the allotted time. However, each card also has "taboo" (forbidden) words listed which may not be spoken. If the pupil is able to get their teammates to guess the key term, they gain that card. After the allocated time, another pupil gains the remaining pack of taboo cards and the process is repeated. The player with the most cards gained at the end wins. This is an excellent way to get stretch students to articulate and explain the key term without using easily associated words.
This can evidence both knowledge and understanding.
