    Students at Hill House are celebrating this week as they receive a record set of GCSE grades.

    A record 51% of exams were graded at A*/A, beating the previous best from 2011, with a record 21% of exams gaining the top A* grade, beating 2007’s results.

    91% of Year 11 students gained the all-important minimum of 5A*-C A*-C grades including Maths & English, while a massive 31% of the entire year group earned at least 8As or A*s each.

    Unusually, the year group included 4 sets of twins. Tom and Joe Kell, George and Ruby Moore, Calum and Eilidh Macintyre and Harriet and Oliver Gregory scooped 73 passes between them, including 25 A and A* grades.

    Yorkshire Rugby Forward Faraaz Anjum, Doncaster Jazz Band’s Saxophonist Charlie Spruce, Bessacarr’s Ella Broadbent and Woodfield Plantation’s Georgia Marsh all led the way overall with 9A*s and 1A each.

    Headmaster David Holland was delighted with the successes, saying ‘this reflects a lot of hard work and talent from both students and teachers. We are thrilled to see a record set of results, and look forward to seeing this year’s group thrive in the Sixth Form.

  • A Level Results 2016

    Upper Sixth students celebrated as they received another excellent set of A Level grades. The pass rate was a record 99%. An impressive 47% of exams were graded at A* to B, with 74% graded at C or above.

    Headmaster David Holland was delighted with the successes, saying ‘this reflects a lot of hard work and talent from both students and teachers. The great majority of our Upper Sixth are going to top universities on competitive courses. Our students tend to take the more challenging A levels, and we are especially proud that so many of our successful students have also achieved so highly
