  • Brownies Residential

    Published 07/10/16

The Hill House School Brownie Unit ventured to Rand Farm Park for a fun packed weekend. Their adventure started with the exciting task of choosing a bunk bed, followed by an evening meal, complete with chocolate pudding.  They were then set the task of orienteering in the dark with torches, to spell out the name of an unusual farm pet, the chinchilla. The girls showed excellent team skills, taking particular care for the younger Rainbows in their groups.

Despite the excitement of sleeping next to their friends, bed time was surprisingly peaceful. The following morning, the girls showed care and perseverance when working on the farm, particularly the group whose job it was to clean out the pig sties. They then went on a tractor ride, learning about different cattle and farming. Their hard work was rewarded with archery, giant bouncing floors and go-carts in the park. Some girls were even brave enough to go on the zip wire!

For many this was their first night away from their families and their first school residential trip. The girls were impeccably behaved and were all awarded badges for their hard work and caring nature towards the animals.
