National Hockey Finals

On Friday, the U13 Hockey team travelled to Nottingham as the first team from Hill House ever to reach the National Finals. After a superb victory over pre-tournament favourites Surbiton High School, the girls played very well in their following group matches, in each case taking the lead before being held to a draw. In a sickening blow, Bedford High School equalised in the last second of the match, securing them the gold medal match ahead of Hill House. In the final match, the girls held on in a thrilling penalty shoot-out against Kent College to secure 5th place in the country. Head of Girls’ Games Katie Barnes said ‘we are so proud of the girls; to be the only unbeaten team, apart from the winners, in the National Finals is a superb achievement! We intend to be back next year!’
