Three girls from Hill House Junior School made the long journey down to Coventry to take part in the IAPS Swimming Championships.
The competition requires pupils to attend a heat to record a time for their favoured event, with the fastest 16 pupils nationally invited to the Grand Final in Crawley.
Thalia Woods (Year 5) comfortably won her U10 girls 25m breaststroke heat and was the fastest on the night. Olivia Martin (Year 6) stormed home in the U11 girls 50m backstroke heat to also be crowned the quickest at the heat.
Special mention must go to Greta Highfield (Year 4) who competed against swimmers a year older than herself but catapulted herself into second in the U10 25m butterfly in an excellent time.
"These girls have been stars in our school gala fixtures so this prestigious competition was the perfect challenge for them. We will cross our fingers and look forward to the results from all the heats from across the country to see if they have made the national final," said Mr Lawrie, Hill House Junior School teacher.
