On Saturday 21st January Simon Hogg visited Hill House School to lead our annual Doncaster Schools Masterclass. Simon is a professional Trombone player, Director of Music Performance at Warwick School and one of the founding members of Fine Arts Brass. The day was a great success and pupils prepared music to be played in front of Simon. He covered areas such as breathing, flexibility and articulation and even played a very famous trumpet tune on a hosepipe at one point!
It was great to see Simon’s enthusiasm for music and brass playing shine through and all the young people who were involved in the day all improved and went away with several gems of musical wisdom from Simon!
The Masterclasses are held yearly in January and next year we will holding a woodwind day for all musicians to enjoy.
