Oliver is TCDI Song and Dance Champion

GCSE Drama pupil, Oliver Barker, has added yet another prize to his growing list of musical theatre accolades. During the weekend of 27 January 2018, Oliver became the Cheshire senior TDCI Song and Dance champion, adding to his All England title, earned earlier this year in London. Singing and dancing to “Why, God, Why?” from the hit musical Miss Saigon, Oliver romped to victory. The Theatre Dance Council International awards are fiercely contested and, in his own words, Oliver felt “amazed and proud to win against such stiff competition; especially when so many competitors were 18.” Head of Drama, Mr Ross, said of Oliver’s recent triumph, “Oliver is a very talented young man who acts, sings and dances with an enthusiasm and a natural skill that belie his years. It is a delight to see a student, so dedicated to the performing arts, receiving the recognition that he so richly deserves.”
